Zodwa Twecu (real name Ntombizodwa Twecu Tshela) is South Africann singer born in Port Elizabeth in 1979. She began singing at an early age and sang in a church choir. In 1993, she joined the Real Christmas Voices group.In 1997, the band moved to Johannesburg and signed with Universal Music, with which it released two albums. Zodwa then met the ‘Prince of Gospel‘ Lundi Tyamara and producer Tshepo Nzimande.She worked with Tyamara as a backing vocalist for two years. She also worked with the likes of Benjamin Dube, Deborah Fraser, Rebecca Malope, Sipho Makhabane, and many others. She was also in the group Intwentle.In 2002, Zodwa went solo and since then has released six albums with Bula Music. She has also launched a record label called Zodwa Music under which she has released three albums.She has been nominated at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards for Best Female Gospel Artist. She has also opened for American gospel great Shirley Ceaser and has played internationally in European cities like Paris, London and Amsterdam.Zodwa has collaborated with artists such as Thokozani Langa, Sechaba Padi and Lundi Tyamara.
