Quinten Coblentz is a Dove Award-winning producer and songwriter from the small town of Hartville, Ohio, as well as a skilled vocalist, composer, and audio engineer. His work has spanned a multitude of genres, including hip-hop, pop, EDM, rock, cinematic, and more.
After graduating high school in 2012, Quinten immediately began pursuing a career in music. By 2016, his production resume included work on hip-hop projects such as Shopé’s When It’s Real: Truth Be Told, and Dru Bex’s Imperfect Messenger. He had also begun writing and recording some of his own songs – at the time mostly an upbeat blend of Christian hip-hop and pop.
In 2017 Quinten independently released his debut solo album Sahara, and was featured as a vocalist on several notable projects, including Shai Linne’s Still Jesus and Deraj’s Goodish.
After releasing three standalone singles in 2018, Quinten joined RMG Amplify’s artist roster in early 2019, releasing two additional standalone singles before rolling out his sophomore album We. The album’s lead single “From the Roof (feat. YB)” quickly became his most-streamed song, leading to a remix contest which resulted in the “From the Roof Remix” which was released in September. Quinten finished the year with a three-song Christmas EP, Some Songs I Wrote About Christmas, showcasing his live instrumentation skills in the warm, bluesy production of the project.
2019 also saw the start of Quinten’s work in sync licensing, as he joined forces with MSCMKRS to quickly create an impressive collection of music aimed for placements in TV, films, and ads.
In 2020, Quinten teamed up with songwriter and producer Wes Writer to form WEARETHEGOOD, and the duo wasted no time in stacking up writing and production credits, including KB’s Dove Award nominated single “10K” and four additional songs on his ensuing album His Glory Alone, which took home the Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year.
In the same year, WEARETHEGOOD received another major songwriting credit in Lecrae’s single “This Is My Time”, which was produced by Boi-1da and was featured in the Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game and trailer.
Additionally, 2020 marked the debut of SONNY OH!, a collaborative brand consisting of Quinten and Jared Wells / Deraj. Their first EP Neue Vintage, led by the nostalgic single “Upside Down”, was met with strong enthusiasm from listeners.
In 2021, WEARETHEGOOD produced a remix of Casting Crown’s “Start Right Here”; the remix featured KB and blended trap production with the Christian-contemporary style of the original song. Quinten’s production was also featured in the National Geographic documentary film Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer, and in promotional materials for the Disney film Cruella, the NHL, and video games such as Fortnite, Madden NFL 22, and Call of Duty: Mobile. His work as a producer and engineer also appeared in a variety of television shows, including All-American, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and more.
2022 yielded two additional Dove Awards for Quinten and WEARETHEGOOD as producers, winning in the categories of Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year (“King Jesus” – KB, nobigdyl.) and Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year (No Church In A While – Lecrae, 1K Phew). 2022 also marked the theatrical release of the musical It’s Christmas Again, for which WEARETHEGOOD wrote and produced all of the music, as well as made a cameo appearance in the film.
